Visitation is an independent, Catholic day school. It was founded by the Sisters of the Visitation in 1873. The school is coeducational from our Montessori Preschool classroom and up through sixth grade. Visitation is the only all-girls private secondary school (grades 7-12) in Minnesota.

Visitation differs from many private schools in that it is owned by the Sisters of Visitation, who govern it in cooperation with a Board of Trustees. It is supported by tuition and endowments. Visitation seeks students from a variety of socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Visitation is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States.

Along with our Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, the Visitation campus also includes our Child Care Center (for children six weeks old through age five) and our Extended Day Program (for students up through sixth grade) that begins at 7am and is also available after school until 6pm.  Extended Day hours are available during the school day for preschool and childcare aged children.
