Advent Festival Update

The invitations have been sent, the caterer is booked, and now we just need your RSVP for an exciting family event in the Lower School - the Advent Festival!  This event will be held at Vis on Sunday, December 6, from 3:30pm - 6:30pm.

You may RSVP for the Advent Festival by mail or on-line by clicking here or RSVP by simply dropping off your RSVP card in the special envelopes posted around the Lower School.  Please RSVP by November 13, 2009.

Program Highlights
For $10 per person, or a maximum of $50 per family, you will enjoy an afternoon of holiday festivities that include: hay/sleigh rides accompanied by our own Father/Daughter Club; a family picture with Santa taken by our very own Vis father/photographer extraordinaire, Andy King; cookie decorating with cookies, courtesy of the uncle of a Vis student (Steve Scheunert of General Mills); a family-style Christmas dinner that includes: turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, buttered rolls, all made complete with a finale of pumpkin and apple pies, catered by Prom Catering; and many other fun, family activities.

Please do not let financial constraints keep you from attending the Advent Festival! Contact Michelle Mechtel via e-mail or at 651-683-1721 for confidential financial assistance.  We hope to see all of you there!

Wonder how you'll jampack all of these enjoyable activities into one afternoon?
The Advent Planning Committee's goal is to alleviate waiting in long lines;
they will assign dinner seating times for each family based on your request on your RSVP card; therefore, it is very important that you turn in your RSVP by the November 13 deadline. The committee will also designate a time slot for each family to enjoy both the hay/sleigh ride and the family photo session with Santa; we will work very hard to accommodate everyone’s wishes.

The week before the event, you will receive a packet in the Wednesday Folder which will detail the times assigned for your dinner seating, sleigh/hay ride, and photo with Santa.

If you have any question regarding dinner seating or the activities schedule, please contact Esther Tsai via e-mail or at 651-261-1175 or Mary Beth Snyder via e-mail or at 612-532-8745.
